Being half white/half black (and therefore half Dark Cartel token), I’m naturally conflicted. My black half despises the white half of Obama more than my white half feels guilt toward his black half.

Poor King Diamond. He has entered a state of deep religious doubt about the existence of Satan. The world is just so evil, he’s not sure it makes sense that Satan could exist when the world is like this.
If (when) McCain loses, I think “scapegoat” will be too gentle a term to describe how they’re going to treat this woman. I think I would sooner get the Republican nomination in 2012.
Seriously. I can’t think of a holiday I would be more readily willing to give up. I’ll take Presidents’ Day over Halloween, and not only because the former was a masterstroke by the Gipper. That this year it will be a perfect conflagration between the usual Friday night hell that is the East Village and the general exuberance over Halloween is enough to make me want to move to Ted Kaczynski’s cabin. In spite of the fact that it’s actually in a museum in DC at the moment, and DC is my least-favorite city.
I know it’s an excuse to drink, but do we really need an excuse at this point?
In order to properly describe the reconstituted Dark Cartel, I propose the following term: post-maturity. Post-maturity is the stage you reach after maturity wherein one is so mature that it’s okay to be immature again. It’s a second adolescence, the kind of adolescence only a mature adult is in a position to enjoy.
The Republican Party in Pennsylvania sent out an email last week to 75,000 Jewish voters warning that an Obama victory could lead to a second Holocaust. The email read in part, “Many of our ancestors ignored the warning signs in the 1930s and 1940s and made a tragic mistake. Let’s not make a similar one this year!”
